il viaggio

the journey shaped by many hands

Every paper republic journal has a story before it becomes yours. Il viaggio follows that story, from a traditional tannery in Tuscany to our workshop in Vienna.

Chapter 01 | the tannery

where the journey begins

In Tuscany, hides are chosen slowly, tanned the old way, with vegetable tannins and hands that have done this for years. What's left is never quite the same twice.

Chapter 02 | the cutting table

where precision meets intention

In Vienna, the leather is examined before it's cut. Every mark, every grain, decides where the blade goes.

Chapter 03 | the workshop

crafted by skilled hands

This is where it stops being leather and starts being a journal. Hands that know the material stitch, fold and shape it, giving the same care to every piece that passes through.

Chapter 04 | the finishing table

the finishing touches

Our stock team presses in the paper republic mark, threads the ribbon, sets the refills in place. The last details before the journal is ready to be filled with something of your own.

Chapter 05 | the fulfilment station

prepared just for you

Before it reaches you, the journal makes one last stop. The fulfilment team checks every order, adds a personal touch where requested, and packs it with care. From Vienna, it starts the final stretch of its journey to you.

"I really value the human side of the process. I think that’s what makes both paper republic and this film special."
