Coffee tasting workshop
If you have had a coffee at la maison, our store and café in Vienna, you have already tasted GOTA. We serve their coffee every day, and anyone who enjoys specialty coffee may know the name too. The award-winning Vienna coffee shop and roastery has earned international recognition for its carefully sourced coffees and the expertise behind every cup.
For this workshop, GOTA moves from behind our café counter to the communal table. Markus or Lukas will guide you through a professional coffee cupping, the method used by coffee experts to taste and evaluate different coffees side by side.
You will explore a selection of specialty coffees from different origins and notice how each one develops its own character. By comparing different processing methods, you will understand where particular flavours come from and how roasting brings them forward.
Whether this is your first introduction to specialty coffee or something you already enjoy regularly, you will leave with a clearer sense of what makes each cup distinctive.
What you will taste and learn
- Learn how to taste and evaluate coffee using a professional cupping method.
- Compare washed, natural and honey-processed coffees.
- Understand how growing conditions affect the flavour of coffee.
- Discover what distinguishes specialty coffee from commercial coffee.
- Take away practical tips for getting more from the coffee you drink at home.
Your ticket includes a guided 90-minute cupping with GOTA Coffee, a selection of specialty coffees, professional cupping equipment and a tasting sheet to use throughout the session.
