Deep Dive into Analogue Photography
Working with an analogue camera and film is a unique experience. Much like the world of paper republic, it encourages you to slow down, focus on what truly matters, and engage more deeply with the creative process, unlike digital photography, where images are often forgotten within seconds.
In this hands-on workshop with photographer, curator, and co-director of ROTLICHT. Festival for Analog Photography, Michael Laubsch, you’ll explore the full journey of analogue photography. Starting with the basics – aperture, shutter speed, and ISO – you’ll then head out to capture street scenes in central Vienna.
After shooting, you’ll return to la maison of paper republic to develop your own film and learn how to scan your images for digital use, completing the full analogue workflow from start to finish.
when: Friday, 11th September, 2026 | 13:00 - 18:00
where: la maison, Sonnenfelsgasse 3, 1010 Vienna
mentors: Michael Laubsch (@michaellaubsch | michaellaubsch.com)
language: English, or German if needed
participants: minimum 3 - maximum 8
materials: All materials required for the workshop will be provided, including cameras, film, chemistry, and scanning equipment for every participant.
