Handcrafted in Vienna from Italian vegetable-tanned leather
Each le trifold is handcrafted and handstitched in Vienna from premium vegetable-tanned vachetta leather sourced from Italy, built to last a lifetime. It will age beautifully, developing a rich patina as it travels with you through life. Available in a6 and a5 size and six unique colour combinations.

Product sustainability
All our leather products are handmade in our workshop in Vienna using the finest quality, vegetable-tanned vachetta leather. Our leather comes from a family-run tannery in Tuscany, Italy and is certified by the "Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium (Pelle al Vegetale)". The leather is tanned using only natural raw materials in a traditional and eco-friendly process. No chrome is used in the tanning process.
In our commitment to sustainability, we actively work to minimise overproduction. As a result, certain products may temporarily appear as out of stock. Thank you for joining us in creating a more sustainable future.
We use solely acid-free, FSC and PEFC-certified paper made in traditional paper mills in Europe. All our notebooks are printed in Vienna with eco-friendly, vegetable-based inks.

It comes with a thread bound plain book refill, instead of a notebook refill, which allows for lay-flat binding and is fountain-pen friendly. Inside, you’ll also find three inner ribbons to help you keep track of multiple sections with ease. It’s got a handy pocket to store a few extra things, too.
- grand voyageur: Paper republic classic, the grand voyageur is a minimal cover with one inner ribbon to hold your refills in place. It comes with one notebook refill. It’s perfect if you love flexibility and need something compact and easy to carry wherever you go.
- le portfolio: A stylish journal with extra pockets for your cards, papers, and other little bits you need to carry around. It comes with one notebook refill and one inner ribbon. If you like having your essentials all in one place while still keeping things neat, this is for you.
is le trifold refillable?
Yes, all our leather journals are fully refillable by design. This means you don’t need to replace the entire leather journal once you’ve filled your pages — just swap in a new paper refill, and continue writing.
Each journal comes with elastic ribbons that hold your refills securely inside. You can add more ribbons to hold additional refills, for example, to combine a notebook with a planner or sketchbook. This flexible system lets you customise your journal to fit your needs, whether you use one refill or several.
We offer a wide range of refills in different layouts (plain, ruled, dotted, illustrated) and formats, so you can make it truly yours.

Le trifold in [a5] fits all [xl] & [a5] paper republic refills as well as notebooks up to A5 DIN / 14.8 x 21 cm / 5.8 x 8.3 inches.
